WIDNES VIKINGS winger Frank Sergent wants to make up for lost time by helping Allan Coleman’s team to further wins.
The November signing from Warrington has had to be patient after sustaining a broken leg during pre-season.
He finally made his debut – and scored a try – in the 52-0 triumph at Goole at the start of this month.
And the 20-year-old followed that up with a hat-trick as Widnes sealed a club-record 116-6 victory over North Wales at Colwyn Bay.
That bettered the 90-0 win over Coventry (now Midlands) in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup in 2018.
Recently-signed halfback Danny Richardson set two new club records – most individual goals in a game with 18 and most points with 48.
Richardson, fullback Nathan Connell and winger Mike Butt also scored try trebles alongside Sergent, who made 15 appearances for Swinton on loan from Warrington last year.
“It’s great to be involved at last,” said the Leigh Miners Rangers product.
“The injury has obviously been frustrating. It was tough having to sit and watch, but I’m happy now I’m back playing rugby.
“Now I just want to put my best foot forward, keeping building my game back up and keep my name in the squad.”
Coleman said: “We need to focus on developing and nurturing young talent and Frank is certainly a talented player. He showed last year at Swinton how dangerous he can be.”
