Castleford captain Michael Shenton believes team-mate Daryl Clark more than deserved his call-up to the England squad for this month’s Four Nations.
The 21-year-old hooker enjoyed a stand-out season with the Tigers, scoring 13 tries, assisting 10 others and leading his side in metres gained, tackles made, clean breaks, and tackle busts.

“He’s been outstanding this year, and the fact he’s in the running for Man of Steel says what everyone thinks of him,” Shenton told League Express.
“He’s played well all year and Mac (Steve McNamara) has put him in there on form. It’s fully deserved in my opinion.”
