Sinfield to return for Leeds on Good Friday

Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield is in line to make his return to the side, after being named in the club’s 19-man squad for the Good Friday derby against Castleford Tigers.

Sinfield, who stunned the Rugby League world yesterday by announcing he would switch codes and play for Yorkshire Carnegie at the end of the season, is in Brian McDermott’s 19 after missing the last two matches with a hamstring injury.

However, with youngster Liam Sutcliffe in impressive form during Sinfield’s absence, McDermott has a tough call over whether to throw Sinfield back into the mix.

Zak Hardaker is involved again despite the club’s internal investigation into his off-field behaviour still ongoing, and there is no place for Jamie Jones-Buchanan, who is injured.

Leeds Rhinos squad to face Castleford: Hardaker, Watkins, Moon, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Aiton, Peacock, Ablett, Sinfield, Ward, Delaney, Achurch, Cuthbertson, Sutcliffe, Singleton, Walters, Yates, Handley.

Meanwhile, Castleford have also named their 19-man squad for the game, which will see Luke Dorn return after that horrific facial injury which ruled him out of the Hull FC game last week.

Matt Cook and Nathan Massey are also back after bans.

Castleford squad to face Leeds Rhinos: Boyle, Carney, Clare, Cook, Crossley, Dorn, Finn, Gale, Gibson, Holmes, Lynch, Massey, Millington, Milner, Moore, Roberts, Shenton, Webster, Wheeldon.
