Warrington Wolves head of coaching Tony Smith believes that whoever squares off against Kallum Watkins tonight is in for a “big challenge”, as the Wolves look to end Leeds’ unbeaten start to the season.
The versatile Ben Currie stepped in at centre last weekend against Hull KR when Ryan Atkins pulled out with flu, and Smith has a tough decision to make over whether Currie retains his spot or Atkins returns tonight.
And with England centre Watkins as the opposition for either of those men, Smith is excited to see that individual battle unfold, saying it will be a huge contest in the back division.
“It’s a big challenge for anyone up against Kallum Watkins, he’s a fantastic player,” said Smith.
“At the same time with either of those boys for us, Kallum will have his hands full as well.
“It’ll be a good match-up whichever way it goes.”
