St George Illawarra Dragons forward Luciano Leilua set for Catalans Dragons move

CATALANS DRAGONS are set to sign St George Illawarra Dragons forward Luciano Leilua.

That’s according to Australia’s Daily Telegraph, which has reported that the 30-year-old is set to etch a three-year deal with the French club ahead of the 2027 season.

If so, Leilua would be the Dragons’ third signing for next season, alongside Brisbane Broncos outside back Jesse Arthars and Newcastle Knights playmaker Tyson Gamble.

Leilua has 177 NRL appearances to his name, across two spells with St George Illawarra sandwiched by time at Wests Tigers and North Queensland Cowboys.

He’s also been capped five times by Samoa, most recently in 2024 when he appeared in both matches of the Test series with England.

There is set to be an exodus of players out of St George following a dismal 2026, with the Dragons winning just two of their fixtures so far.

Along with Leilua departing, Emre Guler (Wakefield Trinity), Mat Feagai, Damien Cook and Tyrell Sloan (all Castleford Tigers) will be heading for Super League in 2027.

Meanwhile, Catalans are still without a permanent head coach for next season, though John Cartwright is at the helm until the end of 2026.
