St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham called on his side to stop being caught up in the nature of trying to get results.
Saints missed an opportunity to move joint top of Super League after being thrashed 48-20 by Huddersfield.
And Cunningham said his side is simply striving for more consistency in their game.
“We’re getting caught up in results and going away from what we want to do as a club,” said Cunningham.
“We’re too concerned about results.
“There’s a long way to go in the season. The top four or eight is up for grabs for anyone and all we need to do is to find consistency.
“I’m not overly disappointed; I thought there were good patches in there but we need to put the horse in front of the cart. We shouldn’t have to get behind by 20 points and decide we want to have a crack at the game.”
