St Helens not tough enough says Paul Rowley

PAUL ROWLEY admitted his side got what they deserved after Warrington Wolves made St Helens pay for a slew of missed chances.

Saints took the lead through Tristan Sailor but were unable to extend their advantage as Warrington kept them at bay, drew level, and then pulled away with two second half tries to seal the 18-6 victory.

“We weren’t able to defend as resiliently as them,” said the Saints boss. “They were tougher in those tough moments and that doesn’t roll off the tongue too easily saying that, but that is the fact of the matter.

“We got what we deserved in the end. Like most tough encounters we have been in all year, statistically we are well in the fight, but it is the moments that let us down again.”
