ST HELENS’ injury troubles show no sign of easing up, as reflected in the squad named for Friday’s visit of Catalans Dragons.
Just five of their top 21 squad numbers have been named by coach Paul Rowley, who has now lost Owen Dagnall to an ACL injury as well as having Shane Wright unavailable once more.
With no players coming back, Saints have drafted academy prospects Jack Campbell and Tyler McGann into the first team as they look for a response to last Sunday’s 46-0 hammering at the hands of Toulouse Olympique.
Catalans have been forced into three squad changes with skipper Ben Garcia still unavailable while fellow forwards Romain Navarrete (broken hand) and Harvey Wilson (ankle sprain) picked up injuries in last Saturday’s 28-6 loss to Leeds Rhinos.
Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet returns from suspension while Lenny Marc and Giovanni Descalzi have been recalled.
The two teams currently sit seventh and eighth respectively in the Super League table, albeit Saints are out of the play-off positions on points difference alone while the Dragons are six points adrift.
