THE Student Rugby League in 2025-26 will comprise seven divisions, headed by a National League.

The top tier will swing into action on Wednesday, October 8. The other six sections will be split equally between North and South Leagues, and are designated to launch the following week (although the North Tier 2 divisions will start on October 22).

Opening fixtures in the six-team National League are: Leeds Beckett v Nottingham; Loughborough v Leeds; Exeter v Northumbria.

The other divisions are:

TIER 1 NORTH: Northumbria A, Newcastle, Liverpool John Moores, Sheffield Hallam, Hull, Liverpool.

TIER 1 SOUTH: Exeter A, Nottingham Trent, Swansea, Oxford Brookes, Cardiff, Loughborough A.

TIER NORTH 2A: Manchester, Salford, Bangor, Manchester Met, Chester, Lancaster, UCLan, Edge Hill.

TIER NORTH 2B: Northumbria B, Durham, Newcastle A, York St John, Sheffield, Bradford, Leeds Beckett A, Leeds A, Huddersfield.

TIER SOUTH 2A: Leicester, Nottingham A, Warwick, Northampton, Gloucestershire, Birmingham.

TIER SOUTH 2B: Reading, St Mary’s, Oxford, Oxford A, Brighton, Brunel, Cambridge.

Details of teams set to take part in the College Rugby League, which usually starts in September, have not yet been released by the Rugby Football League.

Meanwhile, sides due to take part in the third season of the Women’s Student Leagues will be announced later.

The RFL’s Andrea Murray told League Express: “We are still a few weeks away from having the entries. Teams will be unable to commit until players return to university.
