Super League attendances have fallen minimally on this time last year.
A small decrease of 0.52% has seen the average attendance drop from 9,226 to 9,177 in comparison to this stage of last season.
For six clubs, their average attendance has gone down compared to the figure 12 months ago. Wigan and Hull FC have seen the biggest loss of attendance, down 1,212 and 2,342 respectively, although it is an inevitable stat given that both played away on Good Friday this year rather than at home.
While attendances have dropped, it is worth noting that the two senior Good Friday derby games, featuring Hull FC, Hull KR, Wigan and St Helens, attracted bigger crowds at the home venues for Hull FC and Wigan last year, which would make a dramatic change to the stats.
Warrington have seen the biggest attendance increase, with their current average of 12,258 up almost 3,000 spectators compared to last year’s 9,516 average.
Catalans have also attracted more than 600 extra fans per game while Castleford, Wakefield, Leeds and Salford have also seen improvements on 12 months ago.
