Who were the Super League Game Stars in Round 19?

Martyn Sadler, the editor of Rugby League Express, reveals which players earned Game Star awards from our reporters in the weekend’s Super League games.

Widnes Vikings 20 Castleford Tigers 40 – Daryl Clark

Reporter: Steve Fox

“The hooker was on top form. International form, to be precise.”

Bradford Bulls 30 Catalan Dragons 32 – Luke Gale

Reporter: Aaron Bower

“Luke Gale was sensational in defeat for the Bulls. If the club can hang on to him in the Championship it will be nothing short of a miracle.”

Hull FC 18 Warrington Wolves 24– Matty Russell

Reporter: Pete Stephenson

“Matty Russell was excellent in all departments. Solid under the high ball, a real threat with ball in hand and the fullback came up with two brilliant pieces of offensive and defensive magic.”

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 16 Leeds Rhinos 14– Richard Mathers

Reporter: Keith McGhie

“A textbook defensive effort allied to an attacking prowess that helped finally prise the game from his former club’s hands.”

Huddersfield Giants 10 Salford Red Devils 36 – Rangi Chase

Reporter: Gareth Walker

“The last few weeks have seen a new, more controlled yet still exciting Chase. He was central to everything for the Red Devils.”

London Broncos 6 Wigan Warriors 56 – Josh Charnley

Reporter: Michael Butcher

“Josh Charnley did a winger’s job perfectly. He took every chance he had to score, fielded the ball well and never seemed to lose a collision when running early in the tackle count.”

Hull Kingston Rovers 40 St Helens 10 – Travis Burns

Reporter: Paul Clarke

“There were many contenders for man of the match – all of them from the Robins – but the most influential player on the field for Hull KR was Travis Burns. His creativity and Drive helped Rovers pull away in the second half.”
