Super League player suspended

Leeds Rhinos’ Joel Moon has been suspended for two games by an independent tribunal, after pleading guilty to a Grade C shoulder charge offence.

Moon will now miss the remainder of the regular season for Leeds after the ban – which came after he was sent off for making contact with the head of St Helens back Mark Percival during their 13-12 defeat to the Saints last Friday.

He will, however, be back for the first round of the play-offs in two weeks time. He was also fined £300.

Liam Farrell was found not guilty of making a Grade B high tackle during Wigan’s defeat against Widnes Vikings last weekend – the only other player charged.
