St Helens in pole position for South Sydney Rabbitohs hooker

SUPER LEAGUE side St Helens are reportedly in pole position to land South Sydney Rabbitohs hooker Siliva Havili.

That’s according to Australian publication Zerotackle which has claimed that Saints have set their sights on Havili following the failure to land Canberra Raiders veteran Josh Papalii.

The Merseyside club had been tracking Papalii for much of this year, but the 34-year-old is set to sign a new one-year deal with the Green Machine.

As such, Saints have now turned their attention to Havili, who has 170 NRL appearances for four different sides.

Speaking on a potential move two weeks ago, Havili said: “That’s definitely an option (to go to England). I’ve got options to play here too.

“I still think I’ve got a lot of footy in me. I’m just happy to explore my options. I’ve got a young family to look after. I’m open to every option and everything out there.”
