TEX HOY has left Castleford Tigers with immediate effect, League Express can reveal.

The 26-year-old joined the West Yorkshire outfit from Hull FC in April 2024, firstly on a short-term contract before penning a two-year deal a couple of months later.

Hoy made 35 appearances for the Tigers, scoring 13 tries and kicking 20 goals.

But with Castleford securing the signing of Canterbury Bulldogs fullback Blake Taaffe, Hoy looked to have been pushed out of the reckoning – especially with youngster Fletcher Rooney waiting in the wings.

Hoy’s departure from the OneBore Stadium frees up a quota spot for director of rugby Chris Chester and head coach Ryan Carr to fill.
