A THREE-PLAYER shortlist has been named for this year’s Wheels of Steel award.
It includes Joe Coyd, the London Roosters star who won the prize last season.
Halifax Panthers’ Rob Hawkins, who was player of the match in the Challenge Cup final win over Leeds Rhinos and helped his side lift the League Leaders’ Shield, is also in contention.
And there is a place too for Tristan Norfolk of Leeds, who face Halifax in the Super League Grand Final on Sunday.
The winner will be announced at the Rugby League Awards on Tuesday, September 29.
Young Player of the Year has already been decided, with London’s Scottish international Max Owen the winner.
And Martyn Gill, who led Edinburgh Giants to an impressive fifth-place Super League finish, is Coach of the Year.
