Three players were suspended when they appeared before an independent disciplinary tribunal this evening following offences committed in First Utility Super League Round 14 fixtures.
Chris Annakin of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats was suspended for five matches and fined £300 after pleading guilty to making a Grade D dangerous throw on Warrington Wolves player Roy Asotasi in the 38th minute.
Ben Westwood of Warrington Wolves was suspended for three matches and fined £300 after being found guilty of making a Grade D dangerous throw on Wakefield player Scott Anderson in the fourth minute of the same match. Westwood pleaded not guilty.
Justin Carney of Castleford Tigers was suspended for two matches and fined £300 after pleading guilty to Grade C sustained punching on Paddy Flynn of Widnes Vikings in the 57th minute.
Earlier in the day, Flynn was suspended for two matches after submitting an Early Guilty Plea to Grade C sustained punching on Carney in the same incident.
The independent disciplinary tribunal also handed down a three-match suspension to Steve Maden of Leigh Centurions after finding him guilty of Grade C running in and punching in the 64th minute of an under-20s fixture against Featherstone Rovers on May 14. Maden, who pleaded not guilty by letter, was also fined £50.
