Widnes Vikings half-back Tom Gilmore has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a new two-year deal.
Gilmore has made 17 Super League appearances following his debut in 2014, as well as impressing on a loan spell at London Broncos last year.
The new contract will mean he stays at the Vikings until the end of 2018 season.
“My plan has always been to stay at Widnes. My ambition is to become the first choice scrum-half here and be a part of the club as it moves forward in the future,” Gilmore said.
“I am enjoying my time at my home town club and look forward to developing my game over the next two years.”
Denis Betts added: “Tom is a really talented young man with a mature head on his shoulders and has huge potential to become a successful player here at Widnes.
“He has developed as a player since he graduated into the first team squad and has now become a role model for the younger players in the squad to look to for advice.
“I am excited for what the future holds for Tom”.
