Returning Wigan star Joel Tomkins has revealed he is set to make his second debut with the Cherry and Whites on July 31 against Salford Red Devils.
The 27-year-old retuned to his former club after making a code switch and joining Saracens in 2011. He started full training with the reigning double champions on Tuesday.
“Salford on July 31 is probably the target but it depends on how the training goes,” Tomkins told the Daily Star.
“It definitely feels like I’ve come home. I’m glad I went to Union but it made me appreciate what I’ve got at Wigan.
“Next year’s World Cup was tempting because that was my ultimate goal when I went to union.
“But playing Rugby League for Wigan means more to me. I am really humbled that I’ve been welcomed back with open arms.”
