Torfaen Tigers seal Welsh Wheelchair League Leaders’ Trophy

TORFAEN TIGERS sealed the League Leaders’ Trophy with a 40-24 win over NORTH WALES CRUSADERS at the Cwmbran Stadium, to set up what should be an equally thrilling when the sides renew acquaintance in next Saturday’s Grand Final at Wrexham University.

The Tigers, who never looked back after having gone 18-0 up in the first five minutes, closed with hat-tricks for Jason Reynolds and Jamie Reynolds, with the latter also kicking five goals.

Dane Oram also dotted down, while Mark Williams improved one score.

North Wales rallied in vain with two tries and three goals by Matthew Turner and a Fionn McCabe brace, with Harry Mitchell-Jones adding a conversion.

SWINDON ST GEORGE rallied from 14-6 down to beat CARDIFF BLUE DRAGONS 16-14, thanks to late tries by Brogan Jones and, with his second touchdown, Jason Reynolds, who was on loan from Torfaen.

Leighton Morris and Tony Ellis added a goal apiece, while the Blue Dragons had led through two tries and a penalty by Lee Sargent, with Libbie Sargent and Daniel Martin adding conversions.
