Catalans go second after squeezing past Huddersfield

Catalans had to dig deep to overcome the valiant Huddersfield Giants, winning 16-14.

Two tries in five second-half minutes was ultimately enough for the Dragons, who managed to hang on for the final 15 minutes after Jake Connor’s secured a grandstand finish.

Huddersfield had gone 8-0 ahead thanks to Nathan Mason’s converted try and a Danny Brough penalty, although their lead was just two points strong at half-time after Louis Anderson rampaged to the line in the 32nd minute.

However, try through Justin Horo and Tony Gigot put Catalans in control, and they defended superbly to stop the Giants recording a third consecutive victory at the death.
