VIDEO: Mariano hoping his injury nightmares behind him

Castleford Tigers forward Frankie Mariano has admitted his time on dual-registration at Batley helped him prepare for his explosive return to Super League action last weekend.

Mariano played a key role for the Tigers last Sunday in just his second Super League game of the season, scoring a superb solo try and starring as Castleford beat Catalans to secure their place in the Super 8s.

And Mariano is hopeful that the second half of the year will be much kinder to him than the first after a horrific time with injury – and says he’s grateful for his spell at the Bulldogs, as it helped to get him battle-hardened for his return to top flight action.
