Johnstone ruled out of Challenge Cup semi-final

Chris Chester has confirmed that Tom Johnstone will miss the Challenge Cup semi-final against Warrington after having minor surgery on his leg.

The wing sensation has been in terrific form this season, but will miss the next four weeks after having the procedure to fix an ongoing issue.

Johnstone’s injury comes as a cruel blow to the 20-year-old, who has earned rave reviews over the course of the season for his fantastic displays in Wakefield’s surge up the table.

In more positive, Wakefield will welcome back Nick Scruton, Mickael Simon and Anthony Tupou will all return for the visit to Catalans on Saturday, with Danny Kirmond expected to return against Castleford last week after his extended absence.
