Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have announced that talented homegrown winger Tom Johnstone has signed a new deal with the club.
Johnstone, 20, who came through the Academy ranks at the club, has committed his future with the Wildcats after signing a new four-and-a-half year contract which will see him remain at Belle Vue until 2020.
The former Stanningley junior made his way through the system at the Wildcats before signing his first professional contract in 2014, before later signing a three-year contract to see him at the Wildcats until 2018.
Johnstone has played 21 games for Trinity this season, scoring an impressive 16 tries along the way.
“I am very happy to be staying at the club for another four years,” Johnstone said. “They are a great set of lads to play with and we have got awesome fans who follow us in numbers week in week out. I am really looking forward to the next few years, especially working with Chezzy (Chris Chester).”
Chairman, Michael Carter said: “I am delighted to have agreed a new deal with Tom that keeps him at the club for the next four seasons.
“It is vitally important as a club that we manage to retain our academy products. Tom has had a fantastic year, is still learning and hopefully will become a much better player over the next four years.”
