St Helens half-back Luke Walsh insists he’s counting down the weeks until he returns to first team action, with the club’s website saying he will return within the next couple of weeks.
Walsh has not played since suffering a horrific leg injury during a match against Widnes last year, missing the Saints’ run to Old Trafford and eventual Grand Final success in the process.
But he told the club’s official website that he feels great in anticipation of his return, and he’ll be back within the next fortnight.
“Everything is going well, I’m flying and feel really good,” he said. “I’ve had surgery to remove the metal work in my leg and I am now counting down the weeks.
“It has been a little frustrating especially watching the boys play but hopefully I’m not that far away now. It will be two or so weeks, definitely.
“Everywhere I go I get asked so my message is I will be back soon, that’s all I can say.”
