Wane not made his mind up on Hampshire decision

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has said that he is yet to decide on what he will do with the future of utility Ryan Hampshire.

Hampshire is currently on a season-long loan at Castleford Tigers, and has in recent weeks found a home on the wing after a lengthy period out of the side.

But when it comes to whether Wane will bring him back to Wigan or let him look for opportunities elsewhere, the Warriors boss says no decision has been made yet.

In fact, Wane says he won’t decide until the end of this season, insisting he’s only worried about players who are currently with the Warriors.

“To be honest I’ve not even given it a thought,” Wane told Wigan Today.

“He’s playing at Cas at the moment, I’m just trying to get players in my team and get players fit, that’s taken up all my mind-space.

“I watch every Cas game, I watch how he’s going, and I know John (Winder, assistant coach) speaks to him regularly so I’ve nowhere near made my mind up yet with what we’re going to do.”
