Wane to keep faith in youngster Gildart for Catalans clash

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has confirmed that he will stick with talented young centre Oliver Gildart for this weekend’s trip to London to face Catalans Dragons.

Gildart was thrown in for his debut against Warrington two weeks ago at the Halliwell Jones Stadium and responded well, scoring a try during Wigan’s hefty win against their fierce rivals.

And despite welcoming back a number of key players this week for the game against the Dragons, Wane will continue to keep Gildart in the 17 after an impressive debut for the Warriors.

“He was good, he will play again this week,” said Wane.

“He deserves his place. He was very efficient, he took his try well – he did everything I wanted him to do and made good defensive choices. I’m happy with him.”
