Warrington icon Clarke returns to club for 2016

Warrington Wolves have confirmed that club legend Jon Clarke is set to return to the club for 2016 as part of a revamp of the club’s backroom squad.

Clarke, who won a number of major honours with the club including several Challenge Cup successes, is back as head of strength and conditioning on a two-year deal from next season, and he’s excited to take up the reins following the conclusion of his spell with Widnes Vikings.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me and my family to rejoin the club where I spent 10 great years and experienced the joys of winning Challenge Cups and a League Leaders’ Shield,” he said.

“To join the existing coaching staff under Tony Smith’s guidance is also a huge plus in terms of my development as a strength and conditioning coach.

“I’m certainly excited about the challenge ahead, which is to undoubtedly bring success back to this club.”

He added: “The recent restructuring of the club at board level, the vision of Simon Moran and the squad that’s currently being put together for next year certainly shows the ambition and desire for success.”
