Washbrook commits to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have secured the services of forward Danny Washbrook for another year, after he penned a one-year extension to his contract with the club.

The former Hull FC man will spend a fourth consecutive season with the Wildcats after signing his new deal, with Washbrook admitting he had no interest in signing for anyone else other than Wakefield.

“I’ve really enjoyed it here.  If you speak to any of the boys that are here or those that have left, they’ll say it’s the best group of lads they’ve played with throughout their career and I’d have to agree with that,” said Washbrook.

“I’ve been trying to get it sorted for the last couple of months so I’m really happy to get it done, I love it here and I didn’t want to go anywhere.

“When the opportunity came up in 2011 to come to Wakefield, I saw it as an opportunity to stamp down a regular place and I’ve managed to do that and enjoy it here.”
