Bradford Bulls centre Kris Welham has revealed that he had interest from Super League clubs as well as the Bulls, before settling on a two-year deal with the Championship side starting next season.
The long-serving Hull KR man will join James Lowes’ squad with immediate effect, and admits he’s excited by the fresh challenge joining Bradford represents.
“They’re are a great club with plenty of history and coming here is a fresh start and a new challenge for me,” he told the Telegraph and Argus.
“There were offers on the table – including one from Hull KR themselves – but we couldn’t settle on a deal.
“There were a couple of other Super League clubs interested in me and obviously the Bulls.”
Welham believes he’s coming to Bradford in some of the best form of his career – and says he’s targeting a swift return to Super League for both himself and the Bulls in 2016.
“I probably had my best season in a long time at Hull KR this year,” he said.
“I’ve had five weeks off since the end of the year but I’m fully fit and raring to go. Myself and Bradford have got the same goal and that’s to get back in Super League.
“If I can contribute towards that then it’s job done for myself.”
