Ahead of tonight’s Hull derby, Hull FC forward Mark Minichiello has insisted that the league table is irrelevant to him – because FC are better than what the table suggests.
Hull are second bottom ahead of tonight’s clash with Hull KR, but a good Easter period could see them fly up the table. And, speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, Minichiello insists that he never looks at the table, because he already knows how good Hull FC are.
“I know how we are going as a team and I don’t need a league table to tell me what I know,” he said.
“I genuinely don’t look at the table. We’ve been better than what that table probably says.
“At the end of the day you still need to get the two points, but that’s the goal every week no matter where you are in it.”
