Widnes Vikings head coach Denis Betts admits he will take advantage of his squad depth ahead of a massive week for the Vikings, which starts tonight against Hull FC. The Vikings have two home games in less than a week, as they back up on Wednesday to face Wigan Warriors, in a game rearranged due to the Warriors’ World Club Challenge commitments.
And Betts – whose side lie seventh in the Super League table – admits that although he is first solely focused on beating Hull, he says he will try to utilise the full depth of his squad.
“I’m going to try and use the full depth of the squad. I’ll try and use as many players as I can but you’ve always got to keep an eye on what’s in front of you,” said Betts.
“We’ve got two games at home this week and I feel they’re important to us as a group and for the supporters, and we’ve got to make sure we can consolidate that kind of feeling.
“To do that we can’t look at Leeds or Wigan, and I’ve got to concentrate on picking a side to win tonight.”
