Wigan Warriors chairman Ian Lenagan has confirmed the club will make an announcement in the ‘next day or so’, following the conclusion of an internal investigation.
The club launched the investigation following reports of an alleged incident outside a gym last month.
John Bateman hasn’t featured since the beginning of the investigation, which has resulted in reports Down Under suggesting the England international could move to the NRL.
Head coach Shaun Wane has remained coy on his absence, simply claiming Bateman was “not available for selection” following victory over Salford.
However, Lenagan has now confirmed that an announcement will be made imminently.
He told Wigan Today: “We have reached a conclusion and will be making an announcement in the next day or so.”
Meanwhile, during an in-depth interview with Wigan TV, Lenagan confirmed that he is hopeful the club can make an announcement on new signings in the next two weeks.
