Wigan Warriors’ Jai Field out with back injury

MATT PEET has revealed Jai Field has a lower back injury which has ruled him out of Wigan Warriors’ clash against Warrington Wolves.

Field played in Wigan’s 16-14 win over St Helens in Super League’s Magic Weekend.

Despite speculation of another hamstring injury, Warriors coach Peet told Sky Sports that the livewire fullback had injured his lower back, but it isn’t too serious.

Peet said: “It’s not his hamstring but his lower back. If it hadn’t have been a short turnaround he might have played.

“But the call was made this morning.”

In the absence of Field, Josh Cartwright started at fullback, whilst Adam Keighran moved into the halves and George O’Loughlin came into the centres.
