WIGAN WARRIORS head coach Matt Peet couldn’t hide his delight with a 16-14 win over St Helens at Magic Weekend.
Peet said: “I’m very proud – it was an unusual game but I am proud of all of the lads.
“The young players deserve a mention – Kian McDermott, Taylor Kerr, Shea O’Connor and Nathan Lowe.
“It wasn’t a pretty game but we got the job done. It was very stop-start, we wanted it to flow but we will take the two points.”
Peet also touched upon the injuries suffered by Lowe and Junior Nsemba.
He said: “Nathan is a tough kid. He was too brave for his own good and damaged his hamstring.
“Junior damaged his hamstring as well.”
