Wigan Warriors winger Abbas Miski in line for loan move

WIGAN coach Matt Peet says Abbas Miski will not play in Super League for the Warriors this season as the club consider salary-cap implications.

The 30-year-old winger is fit again after tearing a hamstring in the Grand Final defeat by Hull KR in October.

Lebanon international and ex-London Broncos man Miski played for the Reserves on Saturday, and may now go out on loan.

“The fact is he won’t play first team for Wigan this year,” said Peet. “We decided some time ago not to use him on our salary cap and allocate funds elsewhere.

“The plan for Abbas is to play in the Reserves and then we are going to loan him out in the coming weeks. It’s more about letting him recover from that bad injury when he tore a hamstring.

“He’s trained hard with the physios and it’s just about getting him back playing and enjoying his rugby now.”
