Wigan winger Davies signs new five-year deal

Wigan Warriors have handed winger Tom Davies a new five-year contract.

The 21-year-old winger has enjoyed a fine start to his professional career with the Warriors, scoring 14 tries in his opening 24 appearances which saw him nominated for the Albert Goldthorpe Rookie of the Year award.

Davies will now stay at the club until the end of the 2023 season, following in the footsteps of fellow young winger Liam Marshall, who signed a new deal earlier this week.

“To sign a new deal at a club like Wigan is a huge honour for me,” Davies said.

“I’m committed to this club and what we’re about and believe in everything that we’re doing here so to be apart of the future here long term is massive for me.

“I want to reach my goals in rugby as a team as well as an individual and I’ve no doubt that Wigan is the best club for me to do that with. I’ve got lots of respect for all of the team, Shaun Wane and the rest of the coaching staff so to be a part of this group now and in the future means a great deal to me.”
