Warrington Wolves easily defeated Castleford Tigers 56-12 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium after leading 38-0 at half-time of their Super League clash tonight.
In a blistering first-half display the Wolves took the lead after three minutes when halfback Chris Sandow chipped the ball forward and collected his own kick to touch down for the first of the Wolves’ seven tries, with Kurt Gidley adding the first of his five first-half goals.
The Wolves scored further tries from Kevin Penny, Tom Lineham, two from Matty Russell, Ryan Atkins and Ben Currie.
In the second half it looked like more of the same, as Sandow scored his second.
But then the Tigers fought back with tries from Joel Monaghan and Gadwin Springer, both goaled by Luke Gale, before Warrington re-established their dominance with more tries from Brad Dwyer, Lineham and Currie touching down on the final hooter.
