Workington Town confirm six departures

WORKINGTON TOWN have announced six further playing departures after previously confirming the retirement of experienced forwards Callum Phillips and Stevie Scholey.

Outside backs Evan Lawther and Oscar Doran, halfback Dom Wear and pack trio Ross Ainley, Callum Farrer and Tuarae Rawhiti have exited the Fibrus Community Stadium.

Kiwi Rawhiti is returning Down Under while former Kells player Wear and ex-Wath Brow Hornets man Farrer are planning to go back to the community game.

Workington, who finished 18th this year, will be coached by former Super League and Barrow forward Brad Singleton next season, with his predecessor Jonty Gorley becoming the director of rugby.

The pair are currently putting together their squad, with fullback Zarrin Galea and threequarter Braden Leigh staying on and another Australian, Harry Fraser, a halfback or hooker who has been in the Newcastle Knights system, incoming.
