Workington Town recruit Australian centre

WORKINGTON TOWN have recruited Australian centre Braden Leigh on a two-year deal.

Leigh joins from Toowoomba-based Queensland Cup outfit Western Clydesdales, where he played alongside current Workington star Levi Atiga.

The 23-year-old was a junior at Wests Tigers but explained: “I had a few injuries and stepped away for a bit to get my body right.

“I’ve had a couple of years at Clydesdales and I was looking for a change and to get overseas.

“A lot of the players from Australia recommended here and spoke about how good the culture is and how good the fans are.”
