WORKINGTON TOWN outside back Spencer Fulton is to take time out of the game due to concussion-related issues.
The 23-year-old last played in the 74-4 away defeat to Oldham in April.
It was his seventh appearance of this year and 16th for Town since joining from nearby community club Cockermouth Titans in February 2025.
Fulton, who also played for Cockermouth Rugby Union Club, was initially recommended to Workington by their former forward Liam McAvoy, his coach at the Titans.
Town said in a statement: “After following head injury assessment protocols and making sure Spencer received the correct assessments from a top specialist in this area, he has been advised to take an extended period away from the game.
“We have ensured Spencer has been contacted by Rugby League Cares/The Seriously Injured Players Fund in offering further support to him.
“Workington Town would like to thank Spencer for his efforts and commitment in the blue and white shirt and we wish every success and health for the future.
“He is a fantastic lad, from a lovely family.”
Fulton is close friends with footballer James Trafford, the Leeds United and England goalkeeper who is also from Cockermouth.
