I'm not knocking buying a season ticket all I'm saying is that there is no value for money to loyal supporters purchasing them due to offers for people not purchasing them and this is wrong.Queing up at the club shop and handing over 100 pounds each would help the club out but nobody does this for the simple reason we want value for money for spending our hard earned money early doors.
but couldn't that scenario happen whatever the circumstances of the Tigers getting new stadium were?
In one breath they are being(legitimately) criticised for playing in a sh it hole, in the next breath they are being criticised because the possibility of their moving out of it doesn't suit their neighbours, or might not suit their neighbours.
When it comes down to it I wouldn't bet against the mendahose jungle being upgraded. But ultimately I think and hope some radical thinking about what the wmdc area needs in terms of professional rugby league. What it has goes nowhere near to matching its potential.
but why are they playing in a sh i thole. if they had gone about upgrading their stadium 20 years ago, a little at a time, they could possibly be sitting in a perfectly good stadium on wheldon road now. instead McGoldrick, Sherwin etc are doing very nicely thank you
do we need the shops, petrol station and park in this development, no. do the people living in close proximity deserve the traffic congestion, noise , and light pollution. no, regardless of what those living in leeds barnsley and australia might think.. do we need a rugby stadium, well cas tigers do, but why. well it's because they have neglected to maintain or upgrade their present ground, despite funding from s/l, and promises that work would be done on that ground to bring it up to standard. they still have a wooden stand with an asbestos roof for goodness sake. surely something could have been done about this. Batley and Dewsbury have upgraded their grounds on crowds of less than a thousand.
the local population do not need this development, why should our quality of life be reduced, because cas tigers have been lax in their duty.
As I'm not a wakey tax payer, and as such I'm as ambivalent towards cas' plans as I am whitehaven's.
But they play in a sheeite stadium....almost everyone of us had a whinge at their "facilities". The stadium desperately needs a significant upgrade or flattening and relocation. I can't blame cas for exploring every avenue.
I may feel otherwise if I paid my community tax to wakey mdc
it's galling to see their something for nothing attitude when others are working so hard, with so little help
so, mr gill says it's imperitive that the council give the go ahead for their free, gratis, and for nothing stadium, because they are having to pump money in to wheldon road. well pardon me, but what does he think the rest of us have been doing, not just maintaining our grounds, but upgrading them too. Fev, Dewsbury Batley, and all without the superleague money which has been afforded to them. all raising money by hard work and inventiveness while cas sit on their backsides waving the begging bowl. sorry but it's just not on.
