  1. A lad, mid 20'sish with a camera was just going in to the big doors as I parked. Are there no highlights coming out?
  2. Be careful what you wish for! Mark Sawyer has kept your club afloat and in a reasonable financial position, like Kev at ours. Yeah we can shout about what it would be like to have a money man, but where are they? We've had a relatively good run since 2010, NRC win, 2 GF's and semi, top non pro side in middle 8's, 1895 final, if nobody wanted to buy then, then what chance do either side have now? Boxing Day was better for us than you but what in reality did either of us expect? Both teams had several newbies, good training doesn't always lead to good game play first up. I thought first half was all us, with ball and without, Dews had no field possession. Second half you pushed well but not enough, had some good hands at time but little incision. It'll get better for both sides. Can't understand your upset with Paul March either, you've as good a squad as you can have with the money available, on the whole I thought watching pre match your pack had the edge on ours size wise and good left edge but the spine was nowhere near matching ours. I'm sure there's improvement in both squads yet.
  3. SirJS certainly remember a large division which was split East and West where Batley were in the Lancashire half then similarly a few games against Yotkshire sides to pad out the season.
  4. We thought that of Dmonny with last year's spending but they didn't achieve. I know Midlands beat us last season in a friendly but I doubt their ability to perform week on week against most of last season's championship.
  5. Wakey, do you reckon according to your worried tone that they'll split this division then? What difference, apart from central payment which will eventually fritter away to nothing anyway, will it make where any team finishes? Happy to accept your opinion regarding us finishing top 5, I'm sure Fordy will aim for top half as a minimum, there's London, Oldham, Halifax, Widnes, Sheffield, even Fev and Salford who will both cobble together good sides, North Wales are in there.
  6. Fairly comfortable, Dewsbury rarely contributed on attack, a few nice passes but only half chances, our defence was excellent, Bruines especially, anything out on his side was hit hard and was felt and every forward was on top of his opponent. Robbie, both halves, Jonah and Robson all set the plays up. Got to mention the 2 excellent passes from Robbie and Jay Scriven for both Burton tries, absolute class. Noticed a couple of Stainburn/ Geary drop offs and field kicking was good today both from Ben and Josh. Continuing togetherness and form will see us alright.
  7. Happy Christmas Frank!!
  8. Oh....and a touch of irony....
  9. It's called opinion KTF....your meat is my poison and vice versa.
  10. GrimKnight....we have Dane, Lucas, Nyle, 2 new lads, Bateman wouldn't get in, always been vastly overrated IMO, the reason he never stays too long at one club is that he soon gets found out.
  11. Young Kian Fisher, son of former player Darren, looked a big lad, only 17 but looks more mature and a chunk from Celtic Joe Mitchell.
  12. It's ongoing is it not....when there's a statement from HMRC/Oldham we'll know it's over.
  13. News this morning that Oldham are next on the conveyor belt to HMRC's door. Is the game in such a parlous state now? I've had a go as much as every(any)body but we have to be thankful that Batley is what Batley does, as much as the RFL disappearing funding would like it not to.
  14. Hope not, spoils Christmas! (Being off, not on!!).
