  1. I was listening on the radio and it sounded like barrow were trying different things and we just stuck to the same old plodding along trying to force ourselves over,it was so frustrating listening to the game the amount of possession we had in their 20 was unbelievable and still coming away with nothing even the commentators mentioned it, even when we forced an error, and got the ball back we were making the same error almost immediately, even in the last few minutes although the game was done, barrow sent a ball straight over the top for their player to chase down which almost came off, we have a massive slope at batley and I often say why don't we put a ball over the top3/4 tackle for someone to chase down at the very worst you would start defending from their twenty, week after week it's the same old thing like you say doesn't take much working out for opposite coaches to work out what we will do when there is no variation in style of play, I'm afraid it's the playoffs for us now and people are saying if so we will be OK no league 1 teams should bother us, I'm not so sure!
  2. My take is that my son in law plays for batley and I hear him get criticism all be it not very often! and yes I don't like hearing it but if he's not playing well I understand peoples frustration and getting upset, yes at times I have responded to people going over the top with what they've said, but I also accept that he's on show and so does he, and will be abused and criticised from both sets of fans, and if you can't take it you shouldn't be playing! the guy your referring to is well known for his behaviour which is usually drink infused and anyone stood with him just ignores him! And mostly not of the same mind!
  3. Maybe his mates were just thinking the same thing! And like I said if it's who I think it is, usually he will have had a drink and probably won't remember what he's even said, and if you were so offended why didn't you go pull him up! Or tell a steward to have a word? Or just move away!
  4. The relevance is if your playing poorly what do you expect love n kisses or criticism? Like I said if your on show it's part of the coarse! The fact that his mother was stood near by is unfortunate, how was he to know! and if it's who I think it might be drink will definitely have been the issue for his behaviour, that said If your stood in a crowd your bound to hear people shouting abuse, the fathers too probably, what do expect them to do punch everyone because they don't like it, had he said it further down the ground would it have even been mentioned, I think not! and as I said I bet he wasn't the only one fffin and blinding, You never sworn at a game?
  5. So what happens when ye at Elland road in front of 30k+ and there all shouting and swearing at players do you identify all of those people, OK the guys mam might have heard what was said, but im sure the wives girlfriends and parents of the Leeds players hear it when the crowd turn on their son's, boyfriends, it comes with the territory you put yourself in the public eye ye get called out, And by the sound of how the game went a few more players needed swearing at! And probably were but out of ear shot, definitely in my garden listening on the radio! Another poor result!
  6. Butterworth can catch the ball nobody doubts that but his positional play is questionable he's been beaten 1 on 1 on numerous occasions because he's having to make up ground, McGowan is a well established super league player and is a natural full back everyone mentions hooley but nobody mentions what a great job he did for us, it's unfortunate for Butterworth if he gets dropped but when you are in a hole and fighting for survival you play your best options simple as that!
  7. Great win for the boys today! 14 - 0 down and come back to win 24 14 is unbelievable some great performances today from the whole team, walshaw, Moore, and Brown, standing out for me, goes to show what we can do, great second half performance my only criticism is how long it took us to break them down, we defended magnificently hardly allowing Sheffield any ground second half, hopefully this is a step on the right direction, is kear going to pull off another one of his miracles, let's keep our fingers crossedmessage to Roger t, mom won't let you nominate it says it is closed something you need to look at,
  8. Called it 2 days ago! I had a feeling he would be back part time working round his job at wakey, he's known for getting teams out of a fix but I'm not sure if he could pull it off this time and keep us out of the playoff situation,we would have to go on a hell of a winning streak to avoid it, that said if we do end up in the play offs I'm sure he will keep us up
  9. Manning Moore Parsons
  10. The result might not show it but it wasn't a bad performance we made a few stupid errors in the first half, but the second half was a lot better no woods off injured, my only concern is how much time we spent in the bradford half but still couldn't score points we spent a lot of time near the bradford line but still no attacking options we need to come up with something different the 1 man trying to barge over the line doesn't work! It was a lot better performance than recent games hopefully it's a stepping stone towards a couple of wins which we desperately need!
  11. Might be a few contenders on here there's quite a few on here seem think they to know everything!!
  12. I think merging the 2 divisions would be a strong contender I could imagine without it a couple more teams dropping out of league 1 with the way things are at the moment with such poor attendences I'm sure the extra revenue gained from merging the 2 leagues would be welcomed from quite a few teams how they would format it im not quite sure!
  13. Unfortunately I don't think this post will get many answers this week! Leaky Brown Greensmith
  14. Really really poor today we didn't look as tho we had any energy, we looked slow disorganised and missed so many tackles which isn't like us what's worrying for me is the amount of points we are letting in it's 40-50 every game which just isn't like us, something has to change quickly, but unfortunately I can't see where the next win is coming from, I'm afraid I don't see us getting out of the bottom 4 this season which means we will be in the play offs what ever that entails, and the way we are playing i don't think we are guaranteed to survive them even tho we would be playing against lge 1 sides, im afraid that this season Batley are looking at the real prospect of relegation! Which could be the final nail in the coffin for BATLEY Rlfc.
