  1. It's 2 non fed and 1 fed trained(that fluctuates in cap value depending on if it's a club trained player). Moylan will be a non fed, Lam Jr will be the Fed spot. I'd assume Ipape is probably the other non-fed marquee. Very sad to see Asiata go if true, I was always expecting to lose Amone back to the NRL but thought we might be able to keep Asiata.
  2. To be fair, Salford have been pretty hot and cold this year. They've just been fortunate some of those games were against were against poor or equally underperforming teams. Scraping past Cas in round 2 and London last month immediately spring to mind.
  3. I'm inclined to agree, I think we'll be looking at big minutes for Amone and Trout regardless with no Mulhern or Norman. I'd rather wait until Asiata and Ipape are up to speed before putting a back on the bench.
  4. There was a game in between those, Wakefield away where were were comfortably in front until Drinkwater got injured and we succumbed to a late defeat. We as a club lost our heads after that one which led to the drop off in form(along with a fair few injuries). I think we're in a very different position to then with a much stronger coach and squad. Good to finally see Ipape back, meaning we're pretty much at full strength now except for Mulhern, although i suspect it will be a few weeks until Asiata and Ipape are fully back in the groove. We at least have the luxury of being able to limit Ipape's minutes with Dwyer in the team.
  5. Doesn't surprise me on Amone and unfortunately it's only a matter of time before he heads back to the NRL. He's far too good not to be getting good offers from there.
  6. I don't think random rumours is a particularly accurate description of that piece, it's just a summary of the transfer stories they've broken to date. When Matt Shaw says a deal is done it usually is, in 2022 he broke the news on Jack Hughes, Ollie Holmes, Rob Mulhern, Matt Davis, Jacob Gannon and more to Leigh months before anything was announced officially. 2023 he broke Owen Trout and others to Leigh long before anyone else was discussing it. I think if you revisit that piece in 6 months time the majority of those will come to fruition also.
  7. We have to be thinking longer term and for that reason I'd stick with McNamara as long as he's keeping solid which he has been. O'Brien doesn't have much longer left at the top level, I'd rather see us lowering the average age with younger players that can get through more work in attack and defence and have room to develop with the extra game time. My biggest frustration of the season so far is the amount of games wasted on Nakubuwai playing 20 minutes at best where someone like Gannon/Brogan/Baxter could have benefitted far more from those minutes, whilst likely adding more to the team considering the lack of work Nakubuwai does.
  8. Hardaker I'd let go at the end of the year. Our three quarters needed freshening up due to the ages which we've already managed with Hanley. I think Leutele is playing some of his best rugby for us currently and Charnley has another year in him yet so I'd keep the left side as is and look to find a new right centre. Wouldn't surprise me if we see McIntosh get a few games there in place of Hardaker to see how he gets on.
  9. Based on what I saw of O'Brien playing in the halves with Lam last year, I'd stick with young Ben.
  10. I think McNamara does exactly what is needed currently when Lam and moreso Moylan are playing well and creating things. He put in several key tackles and spread the ball quickly and accurately to Moylan and Lam. His inside ball created the space for Dwyer to put O'Donnell over for his second and made a try saving tackle that led to the amone break.
  11. Awesome performance and one that felt like we’ve been building to for a few weeks now. Might be a blessing in disguise missing out on Armstrong because Moylan is class and needs that free role in attack to roam wherever he sees fit.
