Catalans Dragons earned a convincing victory over Leeds Rhinos at the Stade Gilbert Brutus today, earning a 46-10 victory in their last home game of the season, and enabling Wigan to draw level with the Rhinos at the top of the Super League table.
The Dragons were always in charge and led 18-0 at half-time through tries from Thomas Bosc, Krisnan Inu and Todd Carney, with Bosc converting the first try and Scott Dureau the other two.
Most observers thought the out-of-sorts Rhinos would recover in the second half, but by the 60th minute the Dragons had extended their lead to 34-0 with further tries to Bosc, Inu and Jordan Sigismeau, with Dureau adding two further conversions.
The Rhinos eventually got onto the scoreboard in the 62nd minute, when Ryan Hall touched down, although Kevin Sinfield couldn’t add the goal.
Jeff Lima was the next to score for the Dragons, with Dureau again adding the goal, before Danny McGuire made the score more respectable for Leeds at 40-10.
The game ended with the two sides swapping tries, with Elliott Whitehead touching down for the Dragons, with Lima adding the goal in his final home appearance for the Dragons, before Joel Moon scored a try, converted by Sinfield, in the final minute of the game.
