Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson has insisted that his club have moved on from the controversial departure of Brett Ferres from the club.
Ferres was the subject of a disciplinary investigation by the Giants after off-field misdemeanours, before eventually being transfer listed and then joining Leeds ahead of the 2016 season.
But Anderson told the Daily Mirror that whilst the situation has been a disruption for his squad in the way of losing an England international in the shape of Ferres, the club have moved on and are preparing for the new season.
“It’s been disruptive in regards that we’ve lost a very, very good player, but that’s about it. The squad’s been good, the squad’s very united behind one person and they’ve done what they’ve done,” he said.
“That’s in the past now and I’ve not really much more comment on that – it was what it was, we’ve dealt with it and moved on and that’s that. Leeds have got a very good player and we’ve got an opportunity to bring some good players in.”
