Hull KR head coach James Webster has laid down the gauntlet for Kevin Larroyer following the French international’s return from injury.
Larroyer made his return from a four-month layoff in Rovers’ defeat to Catalans last month but was left out of the squad for KR’s impressive victory over Wakefield last week.
Both James Greenwood and Maurice Blair scored in that contest, and Webster has told Larroyer he must dislodge one of the back-rows from their position to return to the side.
“Kevin was 100 percent fit to play, but he’s only had one game all year in Catalans. Some other boys were fitter and probably had a bit more time than him at the moment. We picked the best team we could,” Webster told the Hull Daily Mail.
“Kevin’s a good player for us in this squad, but there are blokes that have played almost 20 games this year out there – he’s played 55 minutes. We need some more training time for him. If we could have got him a game this week, great, but we couldn’t.
“Kev will play a big part for us from now until the end of the season, but realistically, could you displace James Greenwood or Maurice Blair, at the moment? I don’t think you could.”
