Lloyd signs new Swinton deal

Swinton second-rower Rhodri Lloyd has signed a new deal with the club.

The Wales international, who scored in the club’s play-off final victory over Workington on Sunday, has played a key role in the club’s survival this year.

He joined the club ahead of the 2016 season but enjoyed his finest year to date this year after wiping the board at the club’s end of season awards evening.

His retention kickstarts Swinton’s recruitment and retention for next year, which is inevitably behind other clubs due to the uncertainty over which league they’d be in up until the weekend.

He said: “The vision of the club going forward, combined with Andy and Stuart’s leadership, has made this an easy decision for me. Roll on 2019.”
