BRAD DWYER has revealed that he ‘toyed’ with the idea of retiring before Salford came calling.
The 32-year-old did have a short loan spell at the Red Devils towards the back end of the 2025 Super League campaign and now he has moved permanently to the new phoenix club.
Dwyer scored six tries in 45 appearances for the Leopards over the course of two seasons after joining from Hull FC.
And now the hooker has explained why he has made the move to the Salford Community Stadium after speaking with new chief executive Ryan Brierley.
Dwyer posted on LinkedIn: “The show goes on 🏉
“Excited to be apart of the fresh start at the club after speaking to Ryan Brierley it worked out to be a great fit for us both.
“After a few months away from the game l, toying with the idea of retirement and other off field commitments. I still felt like I had plenty left to give if the right opportunity came up.
“Hopefully this will add to the fresh buzz around the club and help attract a few more experienced players to put there hand up to play.
“Looking forward to Friday night for the season opener it’s seems there’s going to be a great turn out 👹.”
Dwyer’s move follows the loaning of four other players from Leigh to Salford including Nathan Wilde, Oliver Polec, Ryan Brown and Will Brough.
