Huddersfield Giants ‘given a lesson’ says Luke Robinson

LUKE ROBINSON admitted his Huddersfield Giants were schooled by Catalans Dragons.

In awful weather conditions in Perpignan, Catalans earned a 26-10 victory to start the season.

They gave us a lesson on how to play wet-weather rugby. I thought they were phenomenal,” said Robinson.

”The two halves (Toby Sexton and Lewis Dodd) made us come off our own line all day. We made it difficult for ourselves. Our lads really dug in really well but unfortunately (if you give away penalties and six agains) it’s going to catch up with you.

“It was a valiant effort from us just to stay in the contest for so long but inevitably, that pressure just wore us down.

“We’ve got to tidy up our discipline – I’ve got to go talk to the referees to find out what we’re doing wrong and how to correct what we’re doing – because that energy battle eventually comes back to bite you.

“We kept going for each other but we got beat by the better team on the day.”
